Recorder on the new Pixel phones lets you edit audio straight from the transcript

Those of you who use your phone to record interviews or other conversations will appreciate the addition of these features that Google has made with the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 Recorder app: the ability to edit audio by tampering with the transcript. It’s a small difference, but most people who use the recorder function are welcome.
Basically, you can now use the transcript generated by the Recorder app to cut or remove the actual audio part. The smart scroll functionality provided by the app provides some distinction between words that the app thinks are important, and makes it easy to find the snippet you want to remove.
It’s not clear if this functionality extends to older pixels, but my guess is that it will. We will update it if we find out more about this.
